Do I need a work permit to work in Uzbekistan?

Short answer

Generally yes — on two sides: the company’s permit and your confirmation.

CompanyThe employer’s permit (разрешение) — the company’s right to attract foreign labour
PersonThe individual’s confirmation (подтверждение) — the person’s right to work; working without one is prohibited
ExceptThe exemptions are real — qualified categories skip the employer permit, and several groups need nothing at all
What the law provides

Foreign employment in Uzbekistan is authorised twice over: the employer holds a permit to attract foreign labour, and the person holds a confirmation of the right to work. Both matter — employing without the permit is as prohibited as working without the confirmation. The system then carves out generous exceptions: highly qualified and qualified specialists file no employer permit, and founders, large investors and remote workers abroad are exempt outright.
