The status is worth having where a business earns in foreign currency and moves goods. An enterprise with foreign investments may open and operate accounts in any currency in any bank inside Uzbekistan and abroad, borrow and repay in foreign currency, export its own production without a licence or quota, import for its own production needs without one, and take a land lease from the Cabinet of Ministers for up to twenty-five years. It also carries an obligation that does not apply to an ordinary company: its expenditure in foreign currency must be covered by its own foreign-currency receipts or other lawful sources.
